Halibut
she promoted a lifestyle that does nothing but harm, to everyone it touches. No, she didn't. She was a singer. To say she promoted a lifestyle suggests that she was saying 'c,mon kids, take drugs, get hammered, it's really ace'. She did no such thing. 2pac
Provide examples. Her life 'look at me' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4Yoa4cjw4o&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y15N-vMnsIw her death cannot be viewed as a shock or unexpected, it is however a waste of a life. I hope it might save some of her fans from the same kind of death, but for way to many it will be way to late. R.I.P. AMY
chelle 35
It took me more than 15 years to realise I needed help for my addiction. It was so bloody hard to beat it, but thanks to all the help from the specialists, the wonderful nurses and doctors, councillors ... lots of medication, tears and tantrums from myself I am finally dry. I might not stay that way but I pray I will, if it was not for bigoted, better than me people it would be easier. Thank god there is help out there. At my AA groups there are all walks of life come through the doors... Street drinkers, doctors, solicitors, it is a disease that can creep up on you. Rest in peace Amy.... you suffered enough xxxx

Halibut
REALLY? Yes, really - if you disagree say why you disagree, point to a bit where Amy says - 'taking drugs is great you should take them too'. Go, on, it shouldn't be that difficult if you're so sure you're right.
JFKvsNixon
I think that many people who are addicted to drugs who did not start to take them for hedonistic reasons. I think that there are a lot people who "self medicate" themselves with drugs, both legal and illegal, to be able to cope with any problems that they have. I've always seen Winehouse in this light, and I've thought that her decline in looks and health over the years coupled with her lack her of ability to perform to any standard showed the pitfalls of leading her lifestyle rather tan promoting it.
