BMW factory fitted stereo/GPS/CDchanger help?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I recently made the mistake of buying an aftermarket system for my BMW X5. Had all the features I.e GPS, Bluetooth, DVD, TV, Radio etc. Had the factory fitted head unit/CD multi changer/GPS all taken out in order to have the new system fitted. It was quite a job because mine is an X5 where everything is in the boot and it is literally just the head unit that is up front. Meaning all wiring etc has to be set up from the back of the car to the front.

Basically, we have had nothing but problems with this new system and to cut a long story short, have taken it out and sent it back for a refund.

The problem I now have is, we want the old system putting back in. The garage where we had the new unit put in have tried an failed to get it back up and working. I have then taken it somewhere I shall not name, which is a BMW specialist and they have estimated it will take them at least 4hrs which I can't believe can possibly be true and they charge over £50 an hour!

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing, or no anyone who might be able to help? I th Rotherham area but don't mind travelling.

Thank you in advance for any help/advice
