Does Ambrosia Devon Custard set?

Being set like concrete on the dishes is a product of dehydration, rather than a chemical set which is achieved with normal custard.

 

Time to update your sense of humour to v2.5:D.

If you do make your own custard, here is a little tip for you to stop the skin forming on the top ..... press a piece of clingfilm onto the top of the custard!

 

The skin's the BEST bit. :D

im wanting to make a manchester tart but hav'nt got lots of time to do it all from scratch

 

Nope - need to make it from the powders, or from eggs (good luck with that - they always split for me!)
