mj.scuba
You certainly can engage in any criticism you like, but it must be done constructively (not with hatred or malice). Completely agree That's why the likes of M Phillips are taken with a huge pinch of salt; the only people who think she's 'reasonable' are the anti-Muslims (like the BNP/EDL crowd). She appeals to the ignorant masses. You shouldn't automatically align people with BNP/EDL in order to discredit them and possibly only shows you're own prejudices. Rather than appealing to the 'ignorant masses', it might be that she appeals to people who appreciate an honest view of somebody who will not be silenced by political correctness whether or not they agree or disagree with her. mj.scuba
No, clearly you didn't, as evidenced by the positive mention of another Jewish writer beneath, which you have also quoted. I read that bit too. What it basically says is that a Jewish writer that holds moderate opinions and speaks moderately about Islam is doing so as any rational person would. It seemed to suggest that another person who holds stronger views and espouses those views, is doing so because of their faith, therfore trying to discredit those views. It seemed suggestive of irrationality on the basis of her faith, which may be nothing to do with it.

If people with strong religious views could think rationally then there would be no people with strong religious views.

Faith is not indicative of irratinality, but the two do sometimes coincide and cohabit the same mind.
boyfriday
BoyFriday did I just read that right? Her views lack credibility because she is a Jew? No not at all, but to a casual observer the rantings of a Unitedite who constantly waxes about how crap Wednesday are would have less credibility than the occasional observations of a Man City supporter or Blade with a bigger picture view. Quite right "Faith is not indicative of irratinality" faith is itself irrational.

Glamrocker
A total lie. The only courts in the UK work in the same way as the Jewish courts that have been around for over 100 years but no one complains about. They cover domestic issues only and anyone has the right to use a normal court if they want. There is nothing at all covering criminal law. No its not,you know that and I know that, and if you continue to spout outright lies read the mail article for corroboration

It seemed to suggest that another person who holds stronger views and espouses those views, is doing so because of their faith, therfore trying to discredit those views. Amen Brother It seemed suggestive of irrationality on the basis of her faith, Praise the Lord! which may be nothing to do with it. Remove the scales from thy eyes!
