plekhanov
Many say Choudhry is under the auspices of MI5. The people who follow him are just useful idiots. Oooh, paranoia, Mecks; I'm beginning to get worried about you Perhaps you should leaves gibes about paranoia to posts that you haven't pushed ludicrous conspiracy theories in. plekhanov
Just because a country says it's 'Muslim', doesn't mean it's practising the Faith as it should be. And your authority to declare how Islam should and shouldn't be practised comes from where exactly? Many would say it is the predominant interpretation (hence why it's very prevalent). "Predominant 1. Having greatest ascendancy, importance, influence, authority, or force. See Synonyms at dominant. 2. Most common or conspicuous; main or prevalent:" You have already conceded that your interpretation isn't the one used in "most Muslims countries" as such it's ludicrous to pretend it's "the predominant interpretation". So far as I can tell you interpretation only seems to "predominate" is in the words of apologists in places where Islam is a minority faith. Suffragette1
You certainly can engage in any criticism you like, but it must be done constructively (not with hatred or malice). That's why the likes of M Phillips are taken with a huge pinch of salt; the only people who think she's 'reasonable' are the anti-Muslims (like the BNP/EDL crowd). She appeals to the ignorant masses. This is the problem with religion, it's such an emotive subject that it engenders very heated debate from both sides. Some people find it hard to argue rationally about something so irrational, not that I would ever condone hatred or malice.
