Sharia law in action

Recommended Posts

The claim that we are a christian nation is pretty much nonsense, have you seen church attendance figures?
No, it is not nonsense.

Perhaps only the minority are regular church goers, but our monarch is the defender of the faith, we marry in church, we are buried in cemeteries of cremated following a Christian ceremony. Our laws are based on testimony sworn to God. Our senior public and military appointments are sworn in to holy oath, and many of our schools continue to include Christian assembly as part of their daily routine.

We have national holidays for Christmas and Easter, and our schoolchildren act out the nativity.

We are tolerant nation, and one in which loud minorities of non-Christian groups are allowed their loud voice, but we are very much a nation whose culture, laws and norms are based on the legacy of our Christian faith.

It's sad to see how many supposedly 'civilised people' can become so uncivilised at the mere mention of the word 'muslim'.

Shouldn't these people who claim such high flying moral standards and social awareness be setting an example by applying tolerance and humanity to issues based on ancient values and cultural diversity.

That's a canny observation, it might be provocative to suggest that the people who get over excited about the mention of the word Islam are the self same kind of people who would be sabre rattling if they were Muslims living in the less liberal Islamic countries.

Secular mostly.

Can you work on sundays?

Sunday working and church attendances are irrelevant.

What is relevant to the UK continuing to be a Christian country is the fact that Henry VIII broke with the Roman Catholic Church and established the Church of England [head: Henry VIII; divorces a speciality]. Until such time as CoE is disestablished, the UK will continue to be a Christian country (irrespective of British subjects' affiliation and ethnicity).

They believe they are doing it as christians, in the same way muslim terrorists believe they are doing it for their religion.

I just knew you would make the claim that it wasn't related to christianity.

Are you so sure? In Africa Christianity and Islam sit side by side with little friction in most countries. Those modern religions have to blend in with - and usually take a back seat to - the older cultures and tribal beliefs.

They burn witchs because of ancient tribals beliefs, not because missionaries told them it would be a good idea.

I'm not being argumentative in the slightest, you're making bold claims and I'm trying to understand your reasoning behind them-for example you haven't offered any coherent reasons why Islam is this country's problem.

If this is a 'Christian country' why do so few follow the Christian doctrine? Do you go to church? How does someone following another religion prevent you from doing so or believing whatever you want to believe?

Nail on the head,Christians in this country have realised long ago that living their lives strictly to the word of god has written in the holy book is really a big no no and have progressed and most have become complacent to the idea of openly worshiping a non visual entity ,Islam has not and is still stuck in the past as compared to christianity, this is why the religion is so dangerous its followers are,as akin to such as the crusaders in the past, are happy to follow the word of their god verbatim.
