Where do feminists stand on this?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if this action could be supported by feminists. Both the youths concerned and feminists don't like to see semi-naked women all over the place.

But should the vandalism of posters be applauded?

I'm all for knockers on the bill boards, but I guess everyone isnt..:D

Don't forget Frank, these lads are the sort that would never ever force their women to wear a burqa or cover up, which is of course, completely their own free choice.

Depending upon their view of direct action some feminists may well approve of the act but disapprove of the motivation, other feminists will disprove of both the act and the motivation.

Contrary to what you seem to believe feminists are not a monolithic bloc and there is considerable conflict within feminism between pro-sex feminists and radical feminists. I was involved in a feminist group a few years ago which put on gigs that incorporated burlesque performers into the nights they put on. They wouldn't have agreed with Islamists prudes on any level.

The 'Daily Fail' seems to agree with you, insomuch as it is reporting Bow Magistrates findings on the matter.

You seem to have a bit of an issue with this newspaper more than others - it may be light-hearted a tabloid but it's positively academic at the side of the red tops.
