Racism on Forum

Recommended Posts

How does that work then? People say "you calling me racist" before they've even been called racist? Can't say I've ever seen that.

You're joking scuba? Have you never seen the myriad of posts where people have complained that they can't say what they want for fear of being branded a racist? Or lamenting the fact that they believe they can't use language that non whites can?

PS: Here's one such post on this thread, after only 20 posts!

Racism is very necessary for social control. It allows tribal groups to be formed as individuals position themselves under the fore or against banner. So it becomes a simplistic and narrow argument, where personal identity is polished at the expense of the adverse point of view.

It keeps individuals occupied, and out of trouble on the streets, as they bicker, complain and make points. Thus it has a purpose, to occupy the mind, and keep such minds off more important things, that actually directly affect their personal life.

What really ****** people off, is the lack of opportunity, the lack of money, prospects and a real life, where the dream becomes a reality. They are stuck in general drudgery, where ritualized forms of escape and having a good time, all come with a price tag of some sort or another. So even an escape, a great time, a holiday of a lifetime, becomes a way of being imprisoned the rest of the time.

When one is being robbed by corporate interests, both directly and indirectly through governments economic requirements, one senses a lack of unfairness around. Government and corporate thieves have managed to be seen as invisible, through values such a fairness, we are innit together and other platitudes, churned out to pacify the mass curiosity. So racism has a role to play, as it provides targets for certain psychological needs created by covert interests, to be overtly realised. So the brigades of fore and against racist adherents, can battle with each other till the cows never come home, occupying their time in what are considered to be, a meaningful purpose. Which is the point.

So the real parasites, remain off the public radar, and the lynch mob brigades target each other in a battle for the higher ground, and while this is happening, corporate interests are in fact picking their pockets while encouraging their causes.

So I love racism, it think it is a great thing, as it allows people to polish their identities which ever side of the argument they are on, as they collect reasons, evidence, and motivations to fill in their time in a meaningful way. Fooling the idiots and the intellectuals is a most amusing pastime, like playing with insects.

Stereotyping is not in itself discriminatory...

My bold

Yes, it is!! I don't care how accurate stereotypes might be, even if 99% of an ethnic group/gender comply completely, that still leaves 1% who don't.

Treating that 1% as if they do conform to the stereotype is discrimination...

Of course stereotyping is discriminatory!snip...

Sheesh, can't a guy engage in semantic fencing anymore?

A stereotype is simply a generalisation about a particular group of people. It is only when the stereotype is acted upon that discrimination occurs.

Anyways, an interesting read http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/199805/where-bias-begins-the-truth-about-stereotypes

It's obvious who the real racists are, they are transparent.

They do not condemn or speak out against white nationalist and far right parties. Nor is their default position anti-patriarchy/pro-feminist and anti-homophobic, only within the context of a discussion on Islam.

There are a lot of issues which need addressing which are not being tackled, or are long after the horse has bolted, because a climate of fear of being labelled racist had been allowed to develop.
