Serious lack of Italian run good quality Italian restaurants - HELP

Anyone know any decent Italian run good quality 1 st generation Italian restaurants....there seems to be a serious lack of them in Sheff these days....most of the ones that are half decent are not run by Italians or don't have an Italian Chef...please enlighten.

Yeah me too a family friend owns it but it's not authentic Italian food or italian run more of an 'italian-american' diner. but thanks!!

Casanova on Crookes. Marvellously Italian and lovely food. Zabaglione isn't on the menu, but I asked for it specially. The (Italian) chef came out for a chat & 6 of us ordered it. It was absolutely superb.

Elupo's on Effingham Street in Rotherham is Italian owned and run and often has live music on the weekends, a great all round place to dine.

Is Martinis on London Road still open? I think it was there, we had a foodie meet there a few years ago, near Highfields Library.

Try Zerboni Taste on Eccy Rd. Marco is from Rome and will even cook pasta al dente on request!
