Grandad.Malky
I left school in 76 ………… the longest hottest summer we have had but guess what ………. I cant remember any BBQ`s or all-night garden parties, drinking sprinkled with liberal amounts of expletives ………. Pubs shut at 10.30 and that was your lot ……… things were a lot simpler in those days. busybeez
Hi 'Julesmarie' I ment 'Bicycle' my son was warned by a PCSO for riding on the pavement to school. Normaly he does ride on the road but the numpties in cars were parked half on half off the pavement so he would have been right out in the road and he was nervous (hes 10) There was nobody walking on pavement on that side of the road so I think there shouldnt have been a problem. But he was warned to get off and push or get in trouble. A deffo lack of tollerence I think!

Yes that was the same time as me and I agree with you 100%. I think the pub closing times should be reviewed as this all day drinking isn't working. Mr Gobby
I think people overall are less tolerant of each other than they ever were in the past. Yes your right.
manofstrad
Nothing has changed in our village for as far back as I can remember. Children are seen and not heard, the way it should be.

That's because they are all at boarding school isn't it?

Is that when they have finished labouring in the fields and factories?
manofstrad
That's because they are all at boarding school isn't it? A lot are SH' this is true, but those that remain are well behaved because of the threat of being sent away for their education.
Grandad.Malky
Is that when they have finished labouring in the fields and factories? What’s wrong with that, I went pea picking and spud picking, then again there were no computers or X-boxes tying me to my bedroom.
