Child models. Are they ok?

Recommended Posts

Kids grow up so fast today as it is :(. I think all this beauty padgent stuff and sexualisation of kids is wrong, wrong, wrong!!!

My bold.

Couldnt agree more:thumbsup:

My (just) 13 year old asked for her belly button pierced the other day . Most of the things our kids expect had to be earned with age when I was I kid . I told her when she was 18 she could do as she pleases :) x

Sadly its not uncommon for kids to want to have piercings at an early age.

Spot on the the 18 rule :)

The UK has a history of painting kids for entertainment - At least the Vogue spread has something of 'art' about it, even if it may be ill advised...

But that looks more like it is entertainment for the kids, the vogue stuff does not.

Yeah - it was aimed at 'adults who like kids, and kids who want to be popstars' - that's what the producers said anyways when it was first aired... Not sure about five year olds in nighties singing sheena easton songs, or 7 year olds in black lacy undies singing Iko Iko... It was banned, as kids didn't watch it, as it was on just before Brookside, so a bit late for the mini pops peers... By your thinking, the vogue spread is fine, as it's only read by women who are looking at the clothes, and the US pagents where they paint babies to look like hookers are fine too, as it's family entertainment... Thing is you are right - for the children involved, and the bulk of the adults who see this stuff, it is innocent fun... It's a tiny minority who see something else, but this is why mini pops was banned in the UK, and why people are upset at the Vogue spread...

The Vogue stuff is entertainment for adults, it's just pornography dressed up as sophisticated, and we can all call it "art". yeah right.

Are "made up" children actually sexually attractive to anyone, though? If someone is attracted to children, I would have expected that something designed to make a child look more like an adult would actually be a turn off. I suppose that the police who investigate abuse would know if paedophiles were putting make up on their victims.

Shes obviously a very beautiful little girl, its a shame they cant let her be just that. If she does make it as a super-model she'll have enough years of stress and pressure etc without starting now.

Completely off topic but shes an ex-Wednesday players daughter, Patrick Blondeau.
