just_words
Well I looked http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&cp=28&gs_id=31&xhr=t&q=white+community+riot+england&pf=p&sclient=psy&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=white+community+riot+england&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=62b025b4d8d57372&biw=1024&bih=481 But all I can muster up are race riots, would they count as being white community riots ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_riots

Bassman62
There's nothing new about 'white flight', nor is it limited to white people. The city in MS in which I lived had two major 'white flight' developments, which were populated by more-affluent people (of all ethnicities.) The older 'down town' area wasn't particularly bad for crime (though it did have rather more.) The exodus from 'downtown' meant that the local council lost a significant amount of property tax money. (Fortunately, there were plenty of commercial enterprises in the old town, so the loss wasn't critical.) 'Gated Communities' are perhaps more common in the UK than many would think (over 1000 in 2007 according to this article) and if life in cities is seen to be becoming 'unpleasant' or even 'dangerous' then the number may will increase. Many areas that I frequented when I was young are no longer safe to go to at night, it certainly wasn't affluent people who made the move to the large new estates in Dronfield, Oughtibridge, Thorpe Hesley etc leaving the effluence behind. BritPat
If this was football fans the police would have gone in heavy handed Indeed, football violence could almost be considered consensual between rival groups of idiots. Relatively little physical harm occurred given decades of 'rucks' between rival 'firms' not much more than a ritualised game although distressing for members of the public witnessing the events. Specialist football intelligence units setup liasing with immigration to stop hooligans leaving the country, at the same time no one bothers to count in or out foreign elements that have malicious intent to the country in general and rival communities in particular.
