Tipex
Don't forget the Earth Centre. Most people have by now. Earth what? I would've spent the money on a row of drinkin halls in the city centre.
SoundLamp
Not looking forward to listening to the sound of the chain drive raising the coaster train to the top and people screaming all day as the cars drop. In Beighton you can hear most of the events that happen in Rother Valley now, thats not bad though, usually means theres some thing worth going and taking a look at. But the continuous noise from a theme park on the hillside over looking the lakes will carry way over Beighton.

Pie-face
Let's look at the real reason that Rotherham MBC are really pushing this. The fact is that they need to off load this land. Following opencasting the site was landscaped and intended to be incorporated into RVCP. RMBC decided that they didn't have the money to maintain the site and thus began a desperate bid to off load it to who ever. The YES project was far more plausible than this latest JOKE and that fell flat on it's backside! Oak Holdings (land manager for YES) took on management of RVCP on the understanding that it would be handed back to RMBC if the YES project didn't happen. Presumably RMBC will be getting a little twitchy that they might have to take back the park - which for the record they resent paying for because the bulk of visitors are from Sheffield and NE Derbyshire - One would assume that the China attraction will suddenly become the new managers of RVCP should this crazy (or should that be clazy) idea come to fruition!! dirteecash
if this ridiculous idea goes ahead, rotherham will just get filled up with chinese immigrants looking for cheap work at the park, putting more and more people furher away from work seriously tho a chinese theme park next to rother valley ???? that just shows how thick rotherhams council really is. jomarch
Oh dear Rotherham council making teachers redundant and now trying to make some short term money from a ghastly idea that has no chance of success- why shouldn't this surprise me? Well done councillors of Rotherham- so glad I live in Sheffield!

Well done councillors of Rotherham- so glad I live in Sheffield! I don't think that the Rotherham council is funding this, the plans were put forward by a private business. Ok- so there may be no major costs to the council except it would seem they don't want this land back and it the long run when it has failed it might be assumed that the council tax payer will be picking up the pieces.
