alchresearch
Is it actually a "theme park" though? And if so, are people confusing the word "theme" because of places like Alton Towers which are also called theme parks? To me this looks like nothing more than a gardens and park with a particular style. This kind of thing was big in Victorian times and before when philanthropists brought back exotic plants from the far east and set up gardens. Like I said, Lord Leverhulme set up something similar back in the 1800s and the Festival Gardens site in Liverpool in 1984 was also very similar to this project. Hinzy9
Funny you should say that, just google "thames town" and you will see that they have built a mock English town in the outskirts of Shanghai. It was designed as real town but the transport links were cancelled so it is now used for wedding photos and other entertainment directed at the middleclass. Crikey, you're right! ... But where are the people begging, the street drinkers, gangs of 7stone youths with hooded tops on, 14 year old blonde girls pushing around babies in buggy's, big fat women with cut down jeans and black leggings covered in tattoos? If you're going to do it, ... do it right and make authentic. They're at Rother Valley!
Odin's Wrath
I like the Chinese. Their food, culture, history and people. This does not seem a great idea

Mr Bates
If Rotherham council are in favour, and there is Chinese money behind the scheme, then it will happen. The Chinese have very deep pockets.

iansheff
And overlooked by my house..I'd rather not be looking at the arse end of a cheaply constructed fake Chinese town! I am surprised with a name like that, you could look over your empire.
littlebasher
I am surprised with a name like that, you could look over your empire. Whilst listening to the clunk clunk clunk of the rollercoaster. Still, perhaps all that Chinese food will smell better than the readymeal factory that I'm downwind of!
