Electerrific
Later this year I will be meeting a female friend (literally, Mrs.E might even be attending) from Australia (originally London) who's visiting relatives in Blighty, and will be in Sheffield for a day or two. I hoped to show Sheffield at it's best and was wanting somewhere nice and decent to eat lunch/drink during the afternoon and chat, not exactly overly posh/stuck-up, but certainly without chavs and drunken morons shouting and fighting etc- which rules out a few places I could still name? Delicate balance, huh? I don't go into town much so am unfamiliar with the pubs and restaurants etc suitable for daytime socialising? The places on Leopld St/West St look nice in that plaza, but aren't they a bit expensive and posh? That lawyer bar (?) is opposite. Thanks in advance

Kazpa
Leopold square is good. Mamas and Leonies, Browns or eccy rd has some decent places eg Relish, Kitchen,
Lady Star
Bars in Leopold Sq are not expensive or posh - they're just bars and mostly chain cafes and bars at that - they're not bad, and pretty cheap in the day too! Lot's of happy hours that last most of the afternoon, but don't attract the wetherspoons crowd:)
