The rise of criminal gang culture; why and how?

Recommended Posts

It's the lax in discipline at home/school, the lowering of morals and boundaries and the rise of showbiz-inspired gangster-rap and films.

We seriously need either National Service or Brat Camps etc for all youths, which would break down arrogance, irresponsibility and barriers.

Hasn't criminal gang culture been around for ages?

Mods and Teddy Boys in the 50's-60's, organised football hooligans in the 70's-80's, fops and dandies during the Regency period?

Yes, there were mobs in all eras of history, but in latter decades there hasn't been the bitter and blatant disregard for law and humanity.

I'd have brought in the army, to make a strong point for elsewhere and the future.

Government? Parents? Police? Media? A shift in morals? Opportunity? Instinct?

Why do you think we see the criminal gang culture that has come to stalk our streets in recent times?

Demographics more likely.

The stupid are now out-breeding the sensible by a significant margin. An increasing population chasing fewer jobs and resources.

Greater access to information which fuels selfishness and jealousies about what other people have rather than things that are really important.

Whilst my parents generation had to think long and hard about the responsibilities of having children, today's generation don't want that responsibility. In fact we have built a society in which the stupid are encouraged to breed.

A police spokesman has just been on the radio moaning about the fact that the requests last night for parents to contact their kids seemed to fall on "deaf ears". No doubt many "parents" were cheering their kids on, or actively involved.
