"We provide the pitch, we provide the ref's, you provide the players"

Flexi Footie is an 11 a side programme which is aimed at players and teams, who for whatever reason do not play affiliated football.

This programme was set up by the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA with one league being run out of Goodwin Sports Centre and the other out of Hillsborough College. These leagues have an emphasis on social inclusion and is looking for adult teams (16+) of all ages, races, ability, religion and background to take part in football on a more regular basis.

As the name suggests the flexibility of the league means it is easier for players to participate who may normally have other committments preventing them from playing affiliated football.

A central venue, one hour games, FA qualified referee's and minimal administrative duites all provide an opportunity for people to experience grassroots football with minimal fuss and maximum benefits.

NEW SEASON STARTS AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER/EARLY OCTOBER:

Goodwin Sports Centre League - Saturdays (Kick Off's 10:30 - 11:45)

Hillsborough College League - Tuesdays (Kick Off's 7:30 - 8:45)

Places are filling up fast but if you have any questions or would like to sign your team up to the league then please contact Matt Elkington, Get into Football Officer at Matt.Elkington@sheffieldfa.com or alternatively call the development team on 0114 241 4992.

It is £60.00 per team per game. Seasons will only usually consist of 6/7 games. May sound expensive however because your team only plays fortnightly (Flexible format) and a usual team will have a squad of 16 (as you are allowed up to 5 subs) it works out cheaper than it would if you were playing 5 a side at small sided provider.

Anything else just ask!?!

When do you need applications by?

Can you play even if you do play affiliate football on a weekend?

It is a league for people not really playing football. But we do have one team entering the league who play on a Sunday but have a squad of almost 40 players so they bring a team down that consists of players who didn't get a game the weekend before.

Applications are better off asap. As the league will be first come, first serve.

Just email me at matt.elkington@sheffielfa.com
