Plain Talker
Cinema in Fitazalan square - was it Regal? The Odeon was on one side, by the YEB showrooms, and on the other side, by Wigfalls, was the Classic. (which burnt down) what was that cafe called on the gallery? Was it Minerva? Also i remember a supermarket called Presto's? yes the restaurant was the Minerva. Prestos had a couple of incarnations, as a costcutter and I think it may also have been a "Challenge" (Was certainly owned by the Presto/ Frank Dee chain)

(which burnt down) The Classic went by another name in the 40s and 50s. Can't remember it though. Used to show children's cartoons.

poppins
I remember we had to put a penny in the slot to use the Lavs in Fitzalan Sq, they were like dungeons, a woman stood guard in case the penny got stuck.
