VideoPro
At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, there was a TV graphic with each national flag on a map, pinpointing where the teams would be quartered during the tournament. Surprisingly, the country was not reduced to rubble as a result of this exercise in multiculturism. Nobody minds that too much though, they are more concerned by the awful, halitosis smelling froth left behind by xenophobes. That stuff gets everywhere and is really difficult to clean off. plekhanov
Did anyone see Calendar news yesterday? there was a peice on the Chinese Athletic team coming to Leeds to train, which is all good of course, but to show where around Leeds the athletes were going to be based to train, the leftists at Calendar news couldn't resist indulging themselves by making the map of Leeds all red and using yellow stars to pinpoint the areas where the athletes are going to be, as if to declare what their politics are. aside from anything else China abandoned communism's defining quality, communist economics, long ago which is why the Chinese economy is doing so well. plekhanov
The map of leeds in red and with yellow stars on it is who's national flag?? Well you're hardly going to map the Union flag or the tricolor onto Leeds to show where the Chinese national team will be staying now are you? HeadingNorth
The map of leeds in red and with yellow stars on it is who's national flag?? The red with yellow stars is China's national flag. Hence, when they wanted to do a China-related piece, they show the map in red and place a yellow star at the places they're highlighting. If they were showing where the American team were to be based, it would have been white stars on a blue/red background. The producers think it's a good way to show off their technical wizardry; I don't know where they get that idea. It has nothing to do with politics. Its nothing serious, but their subtle statement about what their, and Leed's true political leanings are didn't go unnoticed by me.

So Leeds and Calender news want to go back to cut throat Victorian style capitalism with no safety net but with the added bonus of a brutal one party dictatorship do they?
