Doingalright
So Leeds and Calender news want to go back to cut throat Victorian style capitalism with no safety net but with the added bonus of a brutal one party dictatorship do they? True China is becoming a capitalist state these days, but the Maoist Labour left still dream about and admire the ten year cultural revolution(the great proletariat cultural revolution) in China where capitalist elements were removed from Chinese society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_Revolution

anywebsite
I didn't say it was a political manifesto, I said it was a subtle statement. If they aren't allowed to use China's national flag to represent China because you object to it being a communist state with a communist flag, what graphic design symbol should they use instead? plekhanov
True China is becoming a capitalist state these days, but the Maoist Labour left The what now? By what conceivable definition are Labour "maoist"? still dream about and admire the ten year cultural revolution(the great proletariat cultural revolution) in China where capitalist elements were removed from Chinese society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_Revolution Right so your argument is that the journalists at calender news "dream about and admire" Maos Cultural Revolution in which journalists along with members of any other vaguely intellectual profession were massacred

Stop twisting things, they didn't use the Chinese flag to represent China, they mocked up a Chinese flag using the geographical outline of Leeds, as if to make a political statement about Leeds - not the majority of people in Leeds, but the left wing politorati of Leeds. Doingalright
The what now? By what conceivable definition are Labour "maoist"? The Labour front bench may have long since abandoned their communist leanings(officially at least ) but many of their activist are bloody reds. Right so your argument is that the journalists at calender news "dream about and admire" Maos Cultural Revolution in which journalists along with members of any other vaguely intellectual profession were massacred They'd happily work in the communist state propaganda machine. Someone is certainly 'twisting' things to try and fit them into their own incredibly warped take on reality but it sure ain't anywebsite.
plekhanov
The Labour front bench may have long since abandoned their communist leanings(officially at least :suspect) "Officially at least"? They were in power for over a decade during which time the Bourgeoisie thrived without the slightest risk of being massacred by any "Red Guard". but many of their activist are bloody reds. There's some old trots sure but maoists They'd happily work in the communist state propaganda machine. And you getting all this from the use of a common graphical devise What was that you were saying about "twisting things"?

Labours attack on the "outmoded" "bourgois" concept of the family, and their non-judgemental aproach, bordering on encouragement of low standards is blowing up in our faces right now.
