big dinners
Hi all, just after a bit of advice as I cant find any info on the government webpage regarding sick pay for self employed. I'm currently signed off work by a doctor after a pretty big operation and dont know if I'm entitled to any form of benefits while off work. I am self employed and all stamps and taxes are upto date,I dont have anyone else working for me so currently have no income for the next 6-10 weeks while under doctors advice. I do have an upto date sick note from the surgeon and doctor. anyone got any advice for me,I have tried ringing my local jobcentre on several occasions but couldn't get through and cant find any info regarding self employed sick pay on the hmrc web page:huh:. many thanks. BananaSplit
You can claim a self employed sickness benefit, but it's minimal. You need to take your doctors note into the Job Centre. Just for future reference, you can take out insurance for instances like this.
