Horner House, Bradfield, Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Hello there. I'm doing my family tree and on my great grandmother's birth certificate, she was born in 1855, it states that she was born at

Horner House, Bradfield. Was it an actual house or place? I'd love to know please. My great great grandfather was called William MILLINGTON and his occupation on the certificate was in the woollen industry. Thanks very much.

We can find many references to Horner House, Bradfield, and looking at the various websites I reckon it must have been an area of what is now Stocksbridge, but this would have been in the parish of Bradfield, it is a section of land surrounding what is now Pearson St, Stocksbridge.

Hope this helps.
