Frohike
Off to Scarborough next week, anyone know a good route? I was planning on going - Parkway - M18 past Doncaster - M62 past Goole - A614 upto Driffield - B1249 upto Staxton - finally A64 up and into Scarborough. Any thoughts?? craigmason
the route we usually go is straight up the a1/a1m to come off at dishforth then head for thirsk then follow the a170 to scarborough

upinwath
Easiest way. Up the M1 M1/A1 link A1 north A64 past York then take the turn off to Scarborough (Still A64) after the big bridge. That takes you past Malton and Willerby. Tried all sorts of routes and that's the best.
alchresearch
And if the A route is looking busy there are plenty of country lanes which run fairly parallel which take you to Malton.

mike-s
The route you describe is the nicest, much better than the A1 if you prefer the scenery. Driffield is a great place to stop off for a cuppa as well.
