KATIEB_23
I am sure the holiday alone would be enough for her never to forget. Aww I like the extra thought - he wants the "big reveal" to be worthy of such an amazing gift!
Agent Orange
This is true...a trip to greece would do me! I am sure she will love it, no matter how you present the holiday to her. Although, you could say you are taking her away for the week, to a UK seaside resort and ask her to pack accordingly (conveniently you will be going in the summer so she will pack summer clothes). Drive to the airport instead, making sure the made up holiday is in the general direction of the airport.

Although, my budget isn't so great so my long suffering lady will have to put up with a surprise weekend in Cleethorpes.
upinwath
I'd buy her a tube of sun cream. As she wonders what the hell you're up to, give her the tickets. Packing. Light clothes, a floppy sun hat and a swimsuit. She won't need anything else. Weather out here is generally 30+ in the day and 23 ish at night. Buy Autan anti mosquito cream out here. It's cheap and by far the best brand.
upinwath
Forgot. British passport holder get a 30 day visa on arrival but you have to pay for it. I forget the price but it's not much. Her visa card and most BANK ATM cards will work in local cash machines. I tend to use BCA or BNI machines when I use UK cards. Secure but watch out for spy cams and card skimmers. NEVER use cards in local shops.

Thanks for all your ideas, very much appreciated! She will need 2 months to pack, and if you do it she won't have a thing to wear. (No bad thing if you don't plan on going out!) Thanks for all your ideas, very much appreciated! I lived in Central Java for a couple of years, now in Jakarta. Immigration rules are exactly the same and weather conditions roughly the same. Things are looser, dress wise, in Bali than in Central Java so loose, more 'open' clothes will be fine. She'll hardly need anything past sun skirts, light tops and a floppy hat. Almost forgot flip flops. I could do a week in Bali out of hand luggage without the slightest worry. We had a week in Jogjakarta a while ago. That's my wife and daughter with my good self. Hand luggage only.

upinwath
If I can help, I'll be happy to. PM to make sure I see the question. I'm no expert on Bali but know quite a lot about Java.
