donkey
It'll help them take away a few more civil liberties more like, and most of the public will cheer them on. These stupidity A levels are 10 a penny though. It's all starting to look rather convenient for the government.
Mecky
It's all starting to look rather convenient for the government. They are just trying to influence public opinion and of course they are most vocal. If anyone says hang on a minute, they are immediately shouted down or their concerns are omitted by media sources. donkey
the loony leftie strikes again its a shame for you no one is listening other then your tiny group of like-minded fools. 'loony left'? I don't see anyone else ranting and gibbering on here so far, although I'll take your word for it you aren't on the left.
Titanic99
It's actually a way of saying that benefits will be reduced when you start work in a way that means you are always better off by working or by working more. Unlike the current situation that can mean that if you start work you're overall income actually falls, clearly a disincentive to work. The problem with that argument is that they've already started cutting Housing Benefit since last April, which means that when the starting position for Universal Credit (IDS's replacement) then it is already from a lower level of welfare than before. Titanic99
They will still have money in their pockets and be able to buy things if the "can't work, won't work" crew actually decide to accept that they can't indefinitely be given money for doing nothing, and they'll have to work for it instead, like the rest of us mere mortals. THey will have less money in their pocket as Benfits are being cut now. As my signature points out, the poor are being made to pay for the mistakes of the rich! matsalleh
You mean Libya? I think Homer Simpson said the only solution to a zany scheme was an even zanier one... Yes he (we) should have kept out of it and left the French to do it.
Quinnwok
It goes without saying that Tories are stupid and say stupid things but IDS has clearly achieved an A level in stupidity here. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2027223/Migrant-jobs-boom-Were-chance-saloon-claims-Iain-Duncan-Smith.html Makes my blood boil. Close the borders now, right now.

That doesn't really alter anything does it. Whatever level it ends up at, people will be better off if they work.
