FACEBOOK
why haven't you voted for it then or are you one of those that wants something but never votes for it! Nice observation.
HeadingNorth
I take it you would rather own a bachelor's degree then? Yours for ONLY £50k worth of debt (with an inflation busting interest rate). But the debt is only repayable if I earn a hefty annual wage, so that is no deterrent.
Cyclone
What would you rather own? You don't own a degree, you earn it. It's not a possession.
HeadingNorth
You don't own a degree, you earn it. It's not a possession. And of course, you cannot sell it on; another reason why it cannot sensibly be compared to a house.

chem1st
And of course, you cannot sell it on; another reason why it cannot sensibly be compared to a house. Of course you can, you teach. Information is practically a commodity. You can sell degrees without having one!
HeadingNorth
Of course you can, you teach. Teaching is a method of earning a living. It does not involve your degree going to somebody else in exchange for money. There are no circumstances under which somebody else can buy your degree from you. It remains yours for life. chem1st
You don't own a degree, you earn it. It's not a possession. You don't own a house, you hold a title of ownership, people LIVE in them. It had to be built in the first place. It's not yours forever. Once the degree is yours, it is yours, you own it.
