Leah-Lacie
I've noticed over the years, Lovehearts have become less colourful, and more and more tasteless. Not only that... It seems they have gotten rather weird as well. Not quite sure what to say about this one: http://tinypic.com/r/ixwirl/7 Anyone else had a strange Loveheart?? LeMaquis
I think you'll find when you come round you've just dropped some acid.
Leah-Lacie
Just had another saying "Tickle Monster" - Bit more erm 'romantic' than "Granny P" I guess, but still! Imagine trying to make a nice wedding cake like this http://www.cakebytz.co.uk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/loveheart.jpg and all the sweets having no colour and saying really REALLY random things
John X
I've noticed over the years, Lovehearts have become less colourful, and more and more tasteless. As have Smarties. This is down to the bright colours and high levels of sugar in the old versions not being very good for you! John X
jossyboy
yeah, a lot of old sweets have been re-invented with less sugar, E-numbers, artificial colours and artificial flavours. The weird messages on love hearts were part of a competition apparently, I had one that said "mermaid eloise"
Leah-Lacie
Oh, well that makes a bit more sense, 'Granny P' How strange, but 'Mermaid Eloise' must have made you think WTH
poppet2
Has anyone noticed how Dairylea cheese triangles are also lighter in colour, and almost tasteless.
Zebra
It's also possible that it's our age which makes them taste differently. We lose a phenomenal amount of our taste buds as we age, so the thing we hated as kids become tolerable as adults because we taste much less. It could account for some changes but as said above, it's true that ingredients change.

On the topic of taste, Tizer and Lucozade taste completely different nowdays.
