Rampent
I didn't think we needed a border war that's all. parochial thy name is SF Rotherham is rubbish. Even the rubbish is lesser than the rubbish in Sheff.

six45ive
Hey! ... come on, I'm not gonna argue with you. There's obviously some kind of confusion here. I honestly phoned Longshaw Estate up earlier (specifically about boundaries) and was assured that all of their estate is within the realms of Derbyshire. I was told that Burbage was too. I have Google Earth but it doesn't seem to work as well as yours as it shows no boundaries. I'm certainly not arguing with you though ... I just thought that anywhere west of S17 was Derbyshire. (don't get me wrong ... I'm quite interested to find out more , now that the subject has been raised) On Google Earth you need to activate the boundary layer found down the left hand side. Without a doubt Longshaw is in Derbyshire and Burbage is in Sheffield. This may help. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/28436499 http://www.panoramio.com/photo/28436571 http://www.panoramio.com/photo/28436423 This road marks the border between Sheffield and Derbyshire. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/28436634 All my photos are taken within the Sheffield border (with the exception of parts of Rother Valley Country Park) sometimes with views outside of the city's bounderies like these. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/28433518 http://www.panoramio.com/photo/30695243 http://www.panoramio.com/photo/46413850
six45ive
I also meant to say that you can't beat Bradfield and Bradfield Dale if you want to enjoy the countryside within Sheffield's border. http://www.panoramio.com/map/#lt%3D53.423179%26ln%3D-1.604576%26z%3D4%26k%3D2%26a%3D1%26tab%3D1

Suggestions and reasons would be most welcome! Fancy getting out and about with the missus. Cheers. Try Derbyshire or Cheshire near Buxton/Congleton

stupid head
Dovedale (Derbyshire, not the lakes one) is a beautiful area, if you have kids in tow take them up to Thors cave, simply stunning for all ages and no tat shops to bother you.

Alcoblog
Park in the Monsal head car park, walk down to the old railway bridge, then through the newly opened old railway tunnel all the way to Bakewell. It's an easy walk (no hills, due to it being an old railway line), about 8 miles there and back. On the way back, follow the footpath to Longstone through the fields and back up the road to Monsal where you can have a brilliant lunch and a lovely pint! Did it yesterday ... very nice!
