Jason Bourne
Other than the '66 world cup, we've won nowt since WWII. So despite his faults, it's Churchill.
Mecky
Who do you think was the best prime minister in the history of this country? Who has made the best decisions? For me it has to be Churchill. He was a leader. Best in terms of what? BTW churchill was not a good PM, he wasn't even a good politician
Chris_Sleeps
These questions are normally futile. It's hard to measure 'talent' in the confines of historical context. Churchill was good because there was a huge war going on. Take that war out of the equation and give him the economical problems of the Depression and he'd be a completely different story. Indeed, in fact if memory serves as soon as the war was over the great British public voted him out with one of the biggest electoral lickings ever. Never gets mentioned. chorba
Best in terms of what? BTW churchill was not a good PM, he wasn't even a good politician It is an open question. You can answer it using any criteria you want. Churchill was pm during the war. The UK stayed away from the ideological drift that was happening in continental Europe. Thank you Churchill. Why was he not reelected straight after the war? that is something I don't understand. So, why was Churchill not a good politician?
