ronthenekred
I find it quite embarassing to be honest, what the hell must other Europeans think of us. In high regard probably considering the gain to the local economy. Or are you talking other European tourists? Probably of the same ilk so more than likely not a lot. If it ain't your thing then avoid.
Mecky
When I was at Oxford I always flew around the world in my private jet, I only stayed in presidential suites or my preferably own mansions but I always go back to Monaco.
buck
On our annual visits to Ireland, we have found the British tourists to be, in general, the friendliest, fun loving guests of any. This is especially true of the many retirees there on bus tours. My late Mother in Law worked as a waitress at Durty Nellies in Clare, which is a vey old pub and restaurant next to Bunratty Castle. She always said the British were the best tippers of anybody.
LeMaquis
Most of the "chav" resorts I've passed through wouldn't exist if it wasn't for tourism. I visited Faliraki for an hour or two last year and it was all tourism. It had a Pizza Hut even. The worst resorts know who they're getting and the people who go there do. We don't drag them down to our level. We build them up to it. What I hate more is when you go somewhere nice and some divvy ruins it. I was once in Vienna and a bloke from Barnsley (the accent was unmistakeable) was directing a Japanese tourist, saying "Well, ****, tha guz darn theea..". I slunk away in shame. But the Japanese tourist probably thought " how quaint".
Harleyman
Why is it that when a foreign holiday resort becomes mostly frequented by Brits abroad does it become an absolute hellhole, full of grotty, garish pubs offering endless supposed "happy hours" and serving bad John Smiths/Guinness etc Bad restaurants successfully selling any old garbage on a plate as long as its CHEAP. Pubs showing endless Fools and Horses episodes and having rubbish Karaoke acts masqurading as entertainment. I find it quite embarassing to be honest, what the hell must other Europeans think of us. iansheff
Buy bottled beer usually same price as the draft in bars on Rhodes where I visit, also you get more in a bottle as the large glasses are 400ml and the bottles are 500ml
