banjodeano
A police officer used "excessive force" in dragging a protester in a wheelchair across a road and Scotland Yard was wrong not to recommend criminal charges against him, a police watchdog has concluded. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has criticised the internal inquiry into the incident last May and said the Metropolitan police should now apologise to the disabled student, Jody McIntyre. Criminal charges may not now be brought against the officer as a six-month legal deadline has expired. The IPCC also recommends that the officer become subject to "management action". http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/aug/24/ipcc-upholds-protester-complaint-police
taxman
Like he said himself, it's amazing how quickly some prosecutions, trials, judgements and sentences can take place yet other investigations take so long that charges can no longer be brought. Despite filmed evidence in both cases.
