abjo441
got some blood test results back but not seen a doctor yet was told by receptionist that my full blood count is out of balance what does that mean
HeadingNorth
It could mean anything from a trivial shortfall in some mineral, up to a major problem which needs immediate hospitalisation - however, since you have not been summoned for an immediate hospital appointment, it is vastly more likely to be something fairly trivial. The doctor might end up telling you to eat more bananas to keep up your potassium level, or something along those lines.

CarolW
A "Full Blood Count" test is one where all the parameters of the blood are measured, - haemoglobin level, - amount, shape and size of the red cells, platelets and white cells. - proportion of red cells to plasma. - the number of different types of white cells..... The most likely one is that your iron levels are a bit low, so you may be advised to take more iron in your diet, or have iron tablets. If you've recently had an infection, your white cell count may be up.... If it was anything serious, you'd have an appointment well before next week, so don't panic!!!!!!! :)
