lady gaga
Thats awful! My kids went there a couple of weeks ago, what happened to all the safety check they are suposed to have....
justmeglynn
It was Major failure of the gearbox wich keeps the rack horizontal at all times. The rack is the horizontal row of seats where the riders sit. Most accidents seem to happen at static fairs and not traveling fairs. So dont be put off riding travelling fair rides. ps, Yes mh01 it was the Surfer Ride

justmeglynn
Thats awful! My kids went there a couple of weeks ago, what happened to all the safety check they are suposed to have.... Yes lady gaga All rides have annual safety checks, its what you do or dont do inbetween these checks. For example, when you have your car MOT it does not mean that your car is safe for the next 12 months, you still have to maintain it to keep its road worthyness (your mot only says its safe at the time of the mot) Travelling showmen have hands on when it comes to maintaining thier rides, they own them, they build them up, they pull them down. They build up and pull down many times a year and see in greater depth the condition of their ride many times a year, so really its like an inspection every time they build up or pull down approx 12-20 times a year, if they see potential problems they take relavent action. Unlike big static funfairs where the owner is not involved in the running or maintenance of thier rides and has to rely on staff alone.
