DaFoot
My mobile phone supports blue tooth . The radio / dash has mobile phone symbols on but they do not work . Do i need to get a kit installed or will they work if i plug a charger in ? The charger wasn't to make it work, but make sure you can keep talking once connected
truman
Not until you find your phone dies after 20 minutes on a call. Don't have a problem ....you need a new battery..

Do i need to get a kit installed or will they work if i plug a charger in ? The way I did mine was to sit in the car with the radio on..on the phone I searched for blue tooth devices (the way to do this will vary depending on the phone) it came up with "Ford Audio"..I selected this to pair to..the radio displayed a PIN number at this point which I entered into the phone and hey presto hands free blue tooth... truman
tried that .. nothing happened So your phone didn't "see" the radio? I'd hazard a guess that your radio doesn't have the option then...despite the symbols on the front...
Cynic
I would have thought your options would be a third party bluetooth handsfree system or having the audio equipment in your car replaced with proper Ford Bluetooth versions. It is probably worth getting a price from a Ford Dealer as a starting point. It will cost a fortune from them though.

There are some reasonably priced bluetooth equipped after market stereos now..about £180.Might be worth chucking one of those in rather than paying Ford dealer prices for a retro fit.. DaFoot
Have you tried fiddling with stereo to see if there is a menu for Bluetooth functions? That would bea way to see if your stereo has bluetooth. With my (after market) stereo that means accessing menus when music is not playing/stereo is in standby. Again, what is the stereo model number?
