Alcoblog
I believe one of these artifacts is from the Sheffield School of Nursing and the other is from the Sheffield Children's Hospital. Unfortunately, the ravages of time preclude me from reading any of the smaller print.
Guest
They are nurse training school badges, issued on completion of the nurse training course by individual schools of nursing. Information here. Larger images here and here. The Children's Hospital one was for the Registered Sick Children's Nurse course at the Children's Hospital. ETA: There's a great Flickr set here. ETA II: This lot might be able to help you with dates.
Alcoblog
To be honest, they look exactly the same as the badges worn by a girlfriend of mine when she was training to be a childrens nurse in Sheffield in the early 80's. The person who owned them may well have lived at Ranfall House in Ranmoor (a home for trainee nurses)
