Sony
I need to tow a vehicle- weighing in at 1500kgs. What would be the ideal vehicle to do this- I'd like to avoid 4x4's!

smithy266
I am about to take my sports car on a 4 wheel trailer to Anglesey using my 1.8 tcdi Focus, which has no trouble at all. edit: car weights 870kg, plus all the spare wheels, tools and trailer, can't be too far off 1200 kg
willman
Any vehicle that has 1500kgs + as its towing weight. I'd be more concerned how you are towing it tbh.
Hanksy
Make sure you are licenced to tow! It came off licences at 1997

Sony
Licence-wise I knew- which is why I am about to take lessons. It's just the type of vehicle- I have a budget of up to £10k max. You can't get much for that, which will tow the van easily. The old land rovers are reliable and the new shape ones are well over my budget. What are you looking to tow, and you will more than likley be fine to tow something of that size with a matched vehicle, it will put you close to the 3.5 ton limit but you shouldn't go over. Go 4*4, Hyundi Santa Fe will see you fine.
Obelix
Make sure you are licenced to tow! It came off licences at 1997 If you were already licenced for it you will still have it - if you got your licence after that date though then you don't have towing, or minibus either if I remember right.
