stevie1957
Is that not the epithet used by the Sun?What did you think of this man who stuck by his principles while others sat back and laughed? I’m surprised he didn’t have a nervous breakdown. Even MI5 got into him, attempting to undermine him through an agent they had placed amongst his union officials. I don’t think anybody laughed at him. According to the BBC, Red Robbo was credited with causing 523 walk-outs at Longbridge, costing an estimated £200m in lost production. In my opinion he was following orders from his controllers in the Kremlin (as did other communist party members). After he was sacked a ballot on a strike in sympathy of Robbo opposed to his dismissal was held but the motion not carried, votes being 14,000 against a strike and only 600 in favour. His fellow trade union men turned their backs on him.
