Location114
Actually funnily enuf i can remember around 4/5 years ago i requested a desktop pc i did put on the ad i dont have any money i was absolutely skint at that time so i got a message off a supposed nice gentlemen who said ive got a computer you can have free of charge its not brilliant but its fine for basic use.....so i went to collect one day he showed me it has this, that, etc etc all very happy until he said......So what would you like to offer me for it?so confused i look at him and said it was advertised as free on a free giveaway website what do you mean? to which he said how much do you want to offer me for it i would accept £20 for it. At this point i swiftly made him aware how pleased i was and left without making any kind offer or taking the item away My understand of freegle is that on freegle you give and receive things for free hence the name. Frazer1974
I was once given a box of chocolates by the happy recipient of our old cot bed. Does that count as payment?
mj.scuba
I think on Freecycle you can report it to the mods and accounts can be suspended.
Lielyloos
Hi all Please report this to the moderators of Sheffield Freegle and this will be dealt with. In no way do we allow this but if its not reported to us there is nothing we can do. Sheffield Freegle Moderating Team.

medusa
If someone posts looking for an item, and nobody has one for free but I have one I can sell to her, I'm not allowed to offer to help? Nope, that's the Freegle and Freecycle rule- everything is free. If you want to sell someone something then you post on a classifieds site or whatever, but no money changes hands on either of the above and items are not traded or lent, they are freely given. Lielyloos
If someone posts looking for an item, and nobody has one for free but I have one I can sell to her, I'm not allowed to offer to help? We do not allow the offers or requests of cash in any way, shape or form. If you do offer so sell someone an item and you are reported to the moderators you Will be removed from the group. I am sure if a member wanted to buy the item they were looking for they would not post on a FREE site.

What makes you sure that they wouldn't prefer to pay for it than go without, if a free one is not available?
Lielyloos
What makes you sure that they wouldn't prefer to pay for it than go without, if a free one is not available? Because am sure they would try a site that SOLD the item like EBAY or even the Forum if they had the cash to pay for one rather than try a FREE site.
