retep
Why would he? What he said is quite true. There's no prohibition on clothing that covers the face. If there wasn't there would be no reason for a law that asks you to remove it.
boyfriday
Wearing our lasses knickers. There's no ban on that either, although I heard it was your sister's knickers you'd a particular affection for

There's no prohibition on clothing that covers the face.It can't be true as it is at the polices's discretion why they stop someone that has their face concealed. What reason is there for you, or a police officer, or a security officer to presume the wearer of the Niqab is a Muslim woman that poses little risk to security? boyfriday
If there wasn't there would be no reason for a law that asks you to remove it. The law asks you to remove it for the purpose of establishing your identity, since Mack the Knife would refuse to remove his stocking mask otherwise. danot
How the hell do you know? I've never had reason to ask someone to remove their face covering, have you? Perhaps we should ask the police service what they do when the need arises? That's because you don't have the authority to ask anyone to remove their face covering BF. Yes, perhaps we should ask the police just that. Seems a perfectly reasonable question to ask them.

Because experience tells them that's absolutely the case. When criminals are routinely using the burka to rob, rape & murder their experience will inform them otherwise. boyfriday
That's because you don't have the authority to ask anyone to remove their face covering BF. That's why our view is irrelevant, we've no experience of ID checks being carried out on burka wearers so all this double standard talk is pure speculation. Yes, perhaps we should ask the police just that. Seems a perfectly reasonable question to ask them. ..and I'm sure they'd answer it
