FREE ENTRY Wow, we've found a real little gem of a venue here and can't believe we've slept on it for so long. Never mind, we're here now. The West End is certainly different and it's right up our gennel. Picture a large traditional pub on split-levels, given a complete lick of funk and turned into a wicked late night venue. It's a great party space and perfect for what we wanna do. So what DO we want to do? Play records for you. Great ones that make you nod your little head and dance about a bit. We normally run house music events, but it's a late-night affair so there's plenty opportunity to meander through all the music we love. Funk, hip-hop, broken beats, disco edits and all that jazz. Maybe even a bit of that 'future bass' malarky the kids are into nowadays. Just the good stuff, mind you. As for house music, you know how we roll; slo-mo, deep, soulful, tech-ish kinda stuff. Standard. And who are 'we'? Well for the uninitiated, PHONO is a collaboration of like-minded souls from some of the city's finest underground electronic music establishments. DAN J (Sheff leg-end from the likes of Scuba, NY Sushi and Don't Walk...Boogie!) ALEX COOKE (Founder of Diasha, one of the best house nights the city has ever seen) GROWMORE (Pair of chancers from Cargo, who fluked their way onto Radio 1's In New Music We Trust) So there you have it, that's how we do. Free entry an' all. Don't forget that bit. And how could we get this far down our dispatches without mentioning there's a special birthday boy in the house?!?! The bigger, uglier half of GrowMore will be celebrating his 27th down there - yes, 27...no, we know he looks in his 40's, but honestly, he's only 27 - so lord have mercy upon whichever unfortunate has to pour him into a taxi at the end of the night. Anyway, it's an excuse to get together and have a reyt good knees-up. As though we really need one. Any questions? No? Good. Thanks then!
