Conrod
If you put on your donor form a lifestyle or occupation with a high risk of contracting HIV or other unpleasant diseases, like for example street corner prostitute, I would certainly hope the result would be a refusal by the transfusion service to accept your blood. The same should be true for homosexual males - if it were not for the politically correct nonsense they would still be grouped as being too high a risk of carrying HIV to give blood. boyfriday
I know the evidence seems to point to it being ok to do so but I still have a uneasy feeling about this,in fact Im not comfortable with it,even the slightest risk of contracting aids has to be not worth the risk. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-14824310 "Nightlight's List of Blood Donors Who Make Him Feel Uneasy" Gays Muslims Darkies East Europeans Socialists Anyone to the left of Genghis Khan (wasn't he a Muslim?) Chris_Sleeps
why take the risk of contracting aids by allowing homosexuals to give blood?? Because a committe of scientists have decided that it isn't a risk anymore.

Chris_Sleeps
do you accept that HIV is more prevelant in the homosexual community yes or no? I don't know. I'm at work and can't really research it properly. At a guess I would say yes, but a committee of scientists have more knowledge than me and have decided the risk is negligable and the benefits of removing the ban are numerous.
