Homelessness up 17%

Recommended Posts

Until recently I always equated homelessness with literally having nowhere to go i.e. sleeping on the streets, I now know that the two things are classed quite differently and the actual number of rough sleepers is in the low hundreds for the country as a whole, with a large proportion of those in London.

Low hundreds? That seems a bit low to me. Just walking through Sheffield city center you can see loads of people living rough.

It would very much help productive business.

Buy to let landlords would be screwed, but I've no sympathy for them, and they produce nothing of value anyhow.

If people don't have to spend a disproportionate amount on housing then they can spend money elsewhere in the economy.

They wont be productive for long once we tank the economy with inflation in double digits....

Hehe - what did I produce as a B2L landlord - oh yes... Capital. That thing you just decided you needed in inimitable socialist run the press and damn the rest style...

QED.

Everyone knows you have no sympathy for them (Buy to let landlords that is). I'm not sure where the hatred comes from though.

He still hasn't explained and never will as to why a landlord who provides an essential service is reviled, and why a grocer, who provides an essential service is not.

I'm still waiting for you to respond to what I asked, and you have been given plenty of reasons. Please keep it to the other thread.

I've given up waiting for you to answer in there. Seeing as you raised the same contempt in this thread with your excreable attitude it's on topic, so please answer the question.

You do not produce Capital. Not at all.

If you built houses you would produce a durable good.

As a B2L Landlord you are no better than an usurper.

Wonder what I paid for the property with then? Fresh air?

As you know I did a considerable amount of work on the pair of them as well making them habitable. I suppose that was paid for with pebbles and small piles of bark being as I cannot produce capital?

Hi

Here in London, we know of a friend who works with a bloke that has his name registered on a council property. His wife left him and he was alone in the three bedroom house. then he got an idea, he has rented out the place for 1500 in cash every month and sleeps in a hostle - he plans to do this for a year - the bloke also gets hosuing benefit as he is part time and low wage!

I suggest your friend does the right thing and reports this bloke. He's not only doing a family out of housing, which is in incredibly short supply in London, he's fraudulently claiming benefits.

Register homeless and you get priority on social housing. Time served on a waiting list is pointless.

I think you mean 'you might get priority'. If every person went to their local council and said they were homeless, do you seriously think that would happen?

Shelter has a free helpline for anyone who is homeless, there is also an online checklist that can identify if someone is actually homeless, is eligible for help, and is in priority need.
