smithy266 Posted September 12, 2011 Share Posted September 12, 2011 I had a Cavalier with a pop-out lcd display for the radio. The numbers gradually faded, and was pretty unreadable. A local car radio expert told me to immerse it in methylated spirits for 24 hours, then leave it to air dry for another 24. It revitalised the display, which still worked years later. Then, I had a digital camera, with dust specks on the sensor. I thought back to the meths trick, and duly immersed.... let dry... etc. Suffice it to say, the camera is now totally u/s.
