upinwath
What he did or the sentence he received? I think he got a sentence for giving a sentence.
grafikhaus74
On the same topic, I've just come across the link later in this post. Apart from the incredible vindictiveness involved, you have to marvel at the incredible time this person has spent putting this together and the fact that they obviously lead very shallow and downright twisted lives. -------------------------- WARNING: This link is about Daphne from Eggheads, contains strong language/opinions and you have to be signed up to Facebook to see it. Cyclone
I'm not in any way defending this guy's actions but the charges, therefore the law he's broken is "sending a communication of an indecent or offensive nature." Given the ambiguous nature of the terminology of the law makes me wonder how many times I could have broken it. How does porn not constantly fall foul of sending "indecent" communication? HeadingNorth
How does porn not constantly fall foul of sending "indecent" communication? I imagine it does, but presumably the authorities would only lay charges if it were being sent to someone who doesn't want it. (And, of course, if it's sent from outside the UK there's not a lot they can do anyway.)
MC Spyda
So the woman who killed herself and her mentally handicapped aughter not so long ago after years of torment and abuse from local gangs should have just been a bit less bothered by it? A civilied society shouldn't tolerate that kind of nonsense whether it happens on the street or online. Yes. It would be better for everyone if they were less bothered by it. Am I wrong? There is a huge difference between these examples. You can always go offline or block people. The same cannot be done in real life.

I'd hate to be the type of person that took things to heart. I can brush everything off extremely easy. However I appreciate that many people can't. I suppose it's difficult to not take to heart comments about your recently dead child when they're made in the midst of everyone elses condolences. Maybe you could be not bothered about the tragic death of your child, but I'm not sure that makes you a better person.

Not being hurt by comments from people you have no connection with and not being bothered about the death of your own child are 2 completely different things.
