Badlittlepup
Interesting that many of them are now reported to own properties in Rathkeale in Ireland. Further interesting info, that the illegal pitches are claiming housing benefits to rent the pitches from another traveller - so a lot of it is a big money making racket and they do have 'culturally sensitive' places to go. Muldoon
That big brother traveller apparantly has asked everyone "even country people" to come and support them:roll: Reckon they are getting enough 'support' from the state as it is. le-joker
What makes you think they'd want to live at Dounray any more than you would? To Mr Halibut, as you are rooting for the gippos`, sorry travellers. I suggest you take a stroll past their camp site. Maybe if we are lucky they will ask you to stay for ten years where you will be encouraged to work for them for nothing, and live in squalor, and when caught trying to escape you are well beaten. Good luck Mr halibut.
mossdog
Yes they can. Travellers is what they are not what they do. It's an ethnic identity. Good luck to them. The council needs to get it's finger out and help them find suitable alternative sites. Now you have got that off your charitable chest ,why not connect with the real world and tell us why fingers need getting out!and more to the point, who will pay the bill? nikonuser
Many generalisation's are used to describe people, communities, groups etc, such as; all muslims are terrorists; all english are racist; all welshmen are sheep lovers etc etc etc. None of these are obviously true, but i find (and yes, from experience) that probably, the only one generalisation that is true is that Traveller's are thieving, lying, tax evading, violent, disruptive and are generally law breaking scum and should not be allowed to get away with blatent breach's of the law using their "ethnic status" as an excuse. gnvqsos
I dont think many of the posters like the travelling community.I fail to see the problem as most travellers do a grand job clearing up scrap metal and similar activities which keep the economy ticking over. LDeville
Even the UN is concerned. The EU is concerned. the Human Rights watch is concerned. They all blame the UK for discrimination. As our gov is a hypocrite and good at pointing fingers at other countries, they told all of the above to p off. If it was up to us, rather than let the static travellers suffer ie let them build and then kick them out, we'd have the large balls to kick them out asap. Free Tip: Let the travells do a deal with Tesco
