Toy poodles attacked in wombwell woods.

I'm gutted for you. Our Molly showed me a picture last night of her sat with them. I can't tell her, she will be devastated. I'm so sorry for your loss pal. I know how much you loved him and how beautiful he was. What a shame you couldn't deal with the attacking dog properly. I hope you find out who's they were. I'm only a phone call away pal.

That is dreadful :(

I walk with a training group (dog socialisation) near the bridle path on the reclaimed land the other side of wombwell and I have noticed that there is a lot of young lads with hunting dogs. A lot of them now have bull lurchers which are very large dogs a few have smaller jack russel types, but the bull lurcher appears to be the dog of choice at the moment for young lads in the countryside.

We have a scout that walks ahead so we get a warning of any other dogs / walkers, which is more for the other dogs as we are in a pack of about 15+ dogs, that are generally well over 30Kg. (mainly ridgebacks, GSD's, retrievers, labs and mastiffs)

The young lads dogs are trained to attack small animals and they should not be out/ be muzzled when they are not working and they are going to come across small animals such as dogs/ cats. They really need to learn to be more responsible.

I hope you manage to catch the culprits, it is very sad.

...Dog owners are hypocrites.

Gosh! could it not be that they were different people with different points of view? Anyway this is surely off topic.

To OP sorry to hear about this and this sort of thing is one of my greatest fears of owning dogs (irresponsible owners of dangerous dogs). I hope the group can be identified.

So sorry for you. I Was up in the woods last week with my own dog and was only thinking how peaceful it was. I'll think twice about going up there again. Where exactly did it happen?

It happened in the woods near wombwell lane, a few hundred yards from where the pull in is.
