masbrolass
I am sorry to hear of the death of your dog. Unfortunately, people do not understand the instincts of different breeds of dogs. It is the instinct of a greyhound to catch creatures. This dog would have seen your poodle as a rabbit or maybe a hare. These dogs need exercise and the best place to let them off lead is in a wood so they can use their instincts. I've seen people with packs of dogs many times in parks which is equally as dangerous if another dog tries to approach their pack. The law will only prosecute if you yourself was in fear of the dog. Hopefully the owner will be insured to pay the vets bill if he can be traced but if you kept kicking the dog they could say you provoked it to bite you. It is awful to witness and I hope you cope with the trauma in time.
