anamika_j
Does any one know what sign examiner ask to follow for independent driving during test? In Parkway test centre

HeadingNorth
Surely, if the test is to have any value, they must randomly pick different signs; otherwise people would find out in advance which sign they would use, and memorise the appropriate route? Does it matter? The idea is to test you on independent driving...if you could practice the route beforehand it's not much of a test is it?

No they don't. I got asked to follow signs for 'Middlewood Shops'... did that, went around to avoid the bus gate etc got onto Penistone road and was told to follow the signs for M1 something Barnsley... Then went up Southey Green, did my left reverse and made my way back to the test centre. Passed first time. So it doesn't have any bearing on where you go, it goes on your ability to drive. If you can't follow the signs, and they're pretty clear instructions then I would recommend a few more lessons on following signs. That's if, it's what you're failing on. HeadingNorth
yeah knowing route is better becuase it avoids faults and serious sometime ... That would mean that it is worse, precisely because it would avoid faults. It would mean drivers passing the test who were not competent.
Saxon
There are more than one independent driving routes so don't bother trying to learn just one - and that goes for all driving test centres
truman
yeah knowing route is better becuase it avoids faults and serious sometime ... So you can only avoid making errors if you can practice a route beforehand? Doesn't say much about what will happen to you when/if you pass...
