LDeville
With you there. Hi Like anyhting, t's personal choice. We don't people at work re our tv's/etc as we deem it as bragging and that is not us. Importantly, people get jealous, so we keep quiet about it. When we bought a brand new E class merc AMG, did not tell anyone at HQ but people found ot and asked us about how nice it was and then we overheard one creep slagging off our car - so personal choice and what you can afford we beleive

I'm not slagging you off mate. I think this licence change is wrong - you probably will have already paid a lot of VAT for your TV purchases, compared to people who bought smaller TVs. BettyBooHoo!
Hi The reason they is not doing this is simples. Very much difficulties in asscertaing the facts re numero tv's in one house - we is chatting about the LED/Plasma/LCD type tv's:hihi: Thank you Alexander! But how will they know (other than new purchases) who's got a big one and who hasn't?
LDeville
Thank you Alexander! But how will they know (other than new purchases) who's got a big one and who hasn't? Hi We despise rebuking in public, but if you read our previous posts here, we have already answered your question, fact!! As we are nice people, the spokeswoman admitted that tis was nigh impozzible to ascertain if people have tv's that were never registered, ie sent off guarantee to supplier, or bought second hand. People may start buying secondhand and give false info to the seller, ie they said on the radio " if a person sold their, lets say 50" tv, and bout a 20" or had a 20" tv, they could claim a discount in tve leicence, but have to prove it was sold or disposed of." We feel that collecting these taxes will write of any profits the gov is looking for. what we advocate is the taxing of car radios, as half the homes have a car/van and most will have a radio, billions to be made. Hi Thanks for that, but we are not your "mate," fact!! Regarding your argument, we agree. however, look at cars, we paid close to 60k for our Range Rove Sport and a roas tax licence for over 900 for the first year and about 460 fror next and it goes up. There the more you pay for a car, usually it has a bigger engine and higher emmisons output, you pay more and this is where the greed b's got the idea from = stuff the hard pressed tax payers is what they say
