Dr Ciaran McLoughlin, the coroner for West Galway in Ireland, said that although Michael Faherty, 76, had been found lying on his back close to a fire in an open fireplace, that blaze had NOT caused his death.

It's so obvious that it was spontaneous human combustion,and not the old fella setting fire to himself.

From the article:

"Ever since I married a Brit and have seen how much they drink, I'm actually rather shocked that more just don't "Explode"!"

Hi

This may be the case in this instance but other cases have involved teenage girls and no signs of drink. it is scary stuff.

The Daily Mail's not the best source to quote when trying to prove a scientific, or any, theory. The article contains a quote;

"Many experts believe there is no such thing as SHC. Retired professor of pathology Mike Green said he believed there always had to be some source of ignition, such as a lit match or cigarette.

'There is a source of ignition somewhere, but because the body is so badly destroyed the source can't be found,' he said."

So there's no evidence that it was spontaneous combustion, despite what the "baffled" coroner said. If such a thing had ever existed there would surely be concrete evidence of it.

I'll make a guess that Faherty was standing with his back to the fire just after eating a huge plate of beans.

Deadly combination

Hi

This is not a joke. The man had a loving family who are devastated.

There is a time and a place for a joke but clearly this is not it.

please show some respect for the victim and his family.

Thanks in advance
